What MatchPoint does
MatchPoint is a volleyball scoring and live-streaming app for teams, families, and fans. Coaches and scorekeepers record points in real time, and teams can broadcast games live to YouTube.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and profile photo from your sign-in provider (Google or email/password).
- Team data: team names, rosters, schedules, game scores, and chat messages you create or participate in.
- Player profiles: athlete names, jersey numbers, and photos you upload.
- YouTube connection data: if you connect your YouTube channel, we store OAuth tokens that allow the app to create live broadcasts on your channel on your behalf. These tokens are stored securely and are only accessible to you and members of teams you link to your channel.
How we use YouTube data
When you connect your YouTube account, MatchPoint uses the YouTube Data API to:
- Create live broadcast events on your channel for scheduled games.
- Retrieve your channel name and stream key so the streaming app can broadcast to the correct destination.
- Refresh access tokens automatically so you stay connected without re-authorizing.
We do not read your watch history, subscriptions, comments, or any YouTube data beyond what is needed to create and manage live broadcasts you initiate. We do not share your YouTube data with third parties.
MatchPoint's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we share information
- Team data is visible to members of that team according to their role (owner, staff, game crew, immediate family, fans & extended family).
- Game scores for your teams may be visible to other teams' members when displayed on shared schedules or live game views.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, and Cloud Storage) in the United States. We use Firebase Security Rules to restrict access: team data is only readable by team members, and your YouTube tokens are only readable by you and the game-day crew of teams you explicitly link. You can disconnect your YouTube account at any time from Settings → Stream, which immediately revokes the app's access.
Your rights
- You can update your profile information at any time in Settings.
- You can disconnect your YouTube account at any time; this deletes the stored tokens.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.
- Parents and guardians: you manage athlete profiles for minors on your teams and may request removal of a minor's data at any time.
Children's privacy
MatchPoint is used by youth sports teams. Athlete profiles for minors are created and managed by parents, guardians, or team staff — not by the minors themselves. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental involvement through the team management features.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be noted here with a revised date.
